Speaker
Jeff McDonald, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.  Jeff spent 10 years as director of mass spectrometry for the LIPID MAPS sterol core where he developed state-of-the-art LC-MS based methods for the analysis of sterols and oxysterols in biological samples. In collaboration with AB Sciex and Phil Sanders at Eli Lilly, Jeff has spent the last 4 years focusing his research towards infusion-based lipidomics using advanced mass spectrometry techniques and applying these methods to helping unravel complex biological questions. Jeff received his BS in chemistry from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Indiana University in the lab of Ron Hites. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the FBI in their forensic research labs in Quantico, VA and was a research chemist there prior to joining the faculty at UT Southwestern.
