Dr. Kallol Gupta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at Yale School of Medicine. His lab has developed a novel approach that enables direct detection of membrane protein complexes from tunable lipid bilayers that can be customized to a target physiological membrane. This technique has been applied to synaptic vesicles to show how lipid organization at the membrane regulates the temporal scale of neurotransmitter release.
